Kindergarten Support Project

On the Kindergarten Support project volunteers are placed in Kindergartens and Nursery Schools throughout Chios Island. You can expect to assist the local teachers and staff with their daily routine and caring for children who range in age from 3 to 6 years. Classroom activities include helping the local teachers and staff with arts and crafts, mealtimes, cleaning, administration work, classroom preparation and rearrangements as well as playing with the children during break time. Volunteers need to take initiative, improvise, be flexible and willing to get involved in a variety of different tasks as needed.

School Support Project

Volunteers on the School Support project will be placed in a local school and will assist local teachers in a variety of different areas. Due to language barriers, volunteers do not teach independently and only support local teachers in the learning environment. The students range in age from 3 to 12 years and follow the Greek curriculum of teaching. The aim of this project is to help stimulate an interest in learning among the students and to support the teachers when needed.
